Year Round Memberships

Our year-round program is designed to provide adults ages 18 and older with disabilities opportunities for social connection, recreation, community involvement, and meaningful activities in a supportive group environment. The Clubhouse hours are Monday–Thursday, 8:30am – 5:30pm.

Since we offer full-day and half-day enrollment options, our program rates vary. Our enrollment rates are discounted and only cover a portion of the actual costs of programming thanks to our generous supporters and corporate sponsors. You can see current rates here

To ensure that Next Step Clubhouse is a safe, successful, and enjoyable environment for everyone, participants must be able to:

  • Participate in a group setting with 15 other members and two staff.

  • Follow basic directions and program expectations with minimal support.

  • Interact with others in a manner that is safe and socially appropriate for a community-based group program.

  • Independently manage their activities of daily living (ADLs), including toileting, eating, dressing, and personal hygiene.

  • Safely participate in community outings and activities.

  • Communicate their basic needs, either verbally or through an established communication method.

Our activities vary throughout the year and are designed to promote socialization, independence, creativity, physical activity, community involvement, and fun! Community outings and field trips are an important part of the Next Step Clubhouse experience. Outings may include visits to museums, parks, recreational activities, restaurants, community events, and other local destinations.

Activities may include:

  • Arts and crafts

  • Cooking and baking

  • Games and recreational activities

  • Music and dancing

  • Fitness and sports

  • Community outings and field trips

  • Volunteer and community service projects

  • Seasonal and themed activities

  • Life and social skills activities

Joining the Clubhouse

Step One: Submit an application!

Step Two: Complete a tour, which will be scheduled by our Program Manager after reviewing the application. This allows potential members to see the Clubhouse, meet our members and staff, and for us to determine if they’d be a good fit. 30-minute tours are scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9:30am-11:30am or 1:00pm-3:00pm.

Step Three: Join our waitlist. We maintain a waitlist for program openings. Because space is limited, we encourage interested families to contact us as early as possible. Placement is based on program availability and the individual's ability to safely and successfully participate in the program.

Step Four: Participate in Drop-in Days. Once an opening is available, we require that potential members participate in two drop-in days. This allows potential members to participate in our programming, interact with our staff and current members, and for us to confirm that they want to be a member at the Clubhouse and will participate in an appropriate and safe way.
